Integrating artistic training into psychotherapy, having a wealth of experience in mental health, including managerial and supervisory clinical practice, Jean founded the Dublin Art Therapy Studio and College.  The Dublin Art Therapy College (DATC) evolved with the purpose of providing training in Person Centred Art Psychotherapy.  As Programme and Clinical Director, inspired and supported by the highly educated, talented, dedicated and experienced team at DATC, Jean is honoured to be at the leading edge of Art Psychotherapy and Expressive Arts.  The DATC team has developed the Person Centred Art Psychotherapy Approach to therapy which is accredited by the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. DATC is a Link Provider with the South East Technological University (SETU) validating the Level 8 BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy and the MSc in Creative Art Psychotherapy (Working with Young People).

John is a practicing Art Therapist and artist. He has 24 years
experience of teaching full-time at second level and has also
worked part-time in the Faculty of Education in N.C.A.D. In his role
as an assistant principal, John initiated programmes that supported
students and families who where experiencing difficulties that
inhibited positive integration into mainstream education through
coordinating a broader base of more efficient responses from the
various child and family support services. In his therapeutic practice
John employs a person centred humanistic approach. He utilises
the medium of art as a therapeutic tool in the healing process whilst
exploring it’s potential in nurturing mindfulness through creativity.
Within this framework he integrates biodynamic and cognitive
processes to assist in the processing of trauma, depression,
anxiety, addiction and conflict resolution. He has facilitated art
therapy in relapse prevention programmes. John is course facilitator
at the Dublin Art Therapy College.

Sarah Roche

Sarah is a Tutor and Dissertation Supervisor on the BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy programme. She holds an MSc in Creative Art Psychotherapy (Working with Young People) and is certified in Reality Therapy and Choice Theory. Her academic background includes a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy and a BA in History and Sociology. She is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MIACP).
Sarah’s clinical practice extends to both adults and young people under the age of 18. She is particularly drawn to working with creative therapeutic approaches to support adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, and issues of self-esteem. Her work integrates creative therapies with a person-centred and humanistic framework.



Yvonne Duggan

Yvonne is a fully qualified psychotherapist who works with children, adolescents and adults.  She is a full-time secondary school teacher and has been involved with the pastoral care and special educational needs requirements of a large mixed secondary school for several years.  Her greatest interest and passion is working with adolescents.  She possesses a vast range of additional qualifications including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Art Therapy, Certificate in Counselling Children and Adolescents. Yvonne is in private practice incorporating creative mediums, mindfulness and art therapy into her Person Centred and Humanistic approach.  An accredited supervisor, she provides individual and group supervision sessions. Yvonne is a Programme Facilitator and Clinical Placement Supervisor at the Dublin Art Therapy College.

Noel previously worked for 12 years as a Counsellor/Therapist for MQI within the Irish Prison Service, Noel now works as a team leader with a community-based organisation in Dublin. He focuses on up-cycling, phototherapy and nature-based art therapy in his own practise. Noel is a programme leader and class tutor at the Dublin Art Therapy College and is currently  studying to be a supervisor.


Helen May
Lead Tutor and Studio Facilitator - MIACP

BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy, Dip Art Psychotherapy, Dip Counselling Supervision, Cert. Dissertation Supervisor.  Cert. Train the Trainer, Certs in Mental Health Awareness, Visual Education and Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness. MIACP.
 
Extensive experience of Mental Health Rehabilitation Groups facilitating Open and Closed Studio practice as a Senior Art Psychotherapist, with a primary focus on the Co-Ordination of the Art Therapy Therapeutic Programme facilitated over four Mental Health Units.  A member of a multi-disciplinary team, responsible for the promotion and integration of the creative process as an integral therapeutic intervention through open studio and group sessions.  The therapy focused on enabling service users through a person centred, client led, Humanistic approach the benefits and inclusion of the creative process as part of their overall care plan and recovery journey.  Helen works in private practice.

Sheila is a practising Art Psychotherapist, Counsellor, Group Facilitator, Adult Educator, and Artist, bringing over 20 years of experience in community arts, therapeutic practice, and education.
Sheila has extensive experience teaching community arts programmes with Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board, working with diverse groups including individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds and ethnic minority communities. She has used art therapeutically with organisations such as Acquired Brain Injury services, Cottage Autism Network, the Alzheimer’s Society, and Beam Disability Services, experiences that highlighted for her the healing potential of creativity.
Her approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred, cognitive behavioural, mindfulness-based, and creative therapies. This framework underpins both her therapeutic work and her teaching, supporting reflective, inclusive, and experiential learning.
Alongside her teaching role, Sheila runs a successful private practice, works as a counsellor with adolescents in a local secondary school, and volunteers with PsyCare, providing harm-reduction support at festivals. She is passionate about fostering learning environments that value creativity, compassion, and professional growth.

Liz facilitates DATC workshops focusing on the therapeutic use of Sand, Clay and Play in therapeutic practice for professionals, students and peers. An accredited supervisor, she supports students through group supervision.   

Having extensive experience, Liz works in private practice supporting children, teenagers and adults. She works in the Primary School system and in Family Resource Centres.   
She is committed to working with clients through creative therapies and humanistic person centred approaches.



Trisha Norry

Trisha is a tutor on the BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy programme. She holds an MSc in Creative Art Psychotherapy (Working with Young People) and a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy. She is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Trisha works in private practice with children, adolescents and adults. Alongside this, she works online, in a Family Resource Centre, primary and secondary school settings, facilitating therapy from an individual and group perspective. Her practice incorporates creative therapeutic methods grounded in a person-centred, humanistic framework.



Nichola Mooney
Tutor and Supervisor

Nichola is a tutor on the MSc in Creative Art Psychotherapy (Working with Young People) in Dublin Art Therapy College. 
A Dramapsychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience working with young people and their families. Having completed her Degree in Applied Social Studies Nichola worked as a Community Youth Worker with young people at risk and their families, progressing to a management and supervisory role. It is here that Nichola rekindled her childhood love of visual art, theatre and dance as a medium to engage, encourage and develop young people and adults to find their passion and reach their potential. Nichola works with children, teenagers, and adults, offering both individual and group therapy.

​Alongside her private practice in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, she maintains a consulting and working residency within a North Dublin inner-city preschool and after-schools project, and works with young people at risk of school exclusion in an education centre setting. Nichola works from a person centered humanistic approach. Creating a safe and supportive space where clients can creatively explore and gain better insights into relationships, loss, bullying, anxiety, grief, neurodiversity and low self-esteem.  With the aim of coming to a deeper understanding of oneself, unlocking one's true potential to engage authentically with the world around us.




Trish Curtis

Trish’s background is in working with pre-school children in education.  This is where her interest in working therapeutically with both children and adults was stimulated. She completed her initial training in 2004.  Her therapeutic approach is from a Humanistic & Integrative perspective in private practice and in a voluntary capacity with adults both individually, couples, adolescents and with children in primary school-based setting. Trish offers both talking and creative therapeutic approaches using Art, Play and Mindfulness grounded in a Person Centred Approach.  Trish is a Core-Tutor and Placement Co-ordinator at the Dublin Art Therapy College.



Noeleen O' Callaghan

An experienced clinical supervisor and psychotherapist, Noeleen is a Core Tutor on the BA (Hons) programme at DATC.   Trained in bereavement counselling her work involves Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy with a speciality in special needs and parenting programmes.  She has a deep interest in the area of Adverse Childhood Experiences and their continuing impact into adulthood.   Studies and interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion along with Trans-Cultural Counselling, Noeleen is involved in the IACP Equality Diversity & Inclusion programme.
